A Night In With Hitchcock

Alfred Hitchcock is undeniably fantastic. The sets, the costuming, the attention to detail, everything about his films appeal to me. My favorites of his films are Rear Window, North by Northwest, and The Birds. Rear window has possibly one of the best and most elaborate designed sets ever, and with my background of theatre at SMU, I can definitely appreciate a great set and wardrobe. 

I love Grace Kelly’s style in Rear Window the most. I have the boxy Marc Cross bag she carried in the film, and LOVE it. It’s such a fun bag to carry, you can get one at Forty Five Ten. To create a Hitchcock vibe look, I’d pair a preppy sweater set, with a pencil skirt, the Marc Cross bag, with a kitten heel. So cute! Or get your hands on actual vintage outfits from one of my favorite vintage stores of all time, Decades Inc. 

Nothing captures old Hollywood glam like a ready-to-entertain, stocked bar cart and matching cocktail set. I love this Vintage Art Deco Bar Cart for holiday hosting. I also love having cocktail recipe books to get ideas for parties, this Vintage Cocktail book from Assouline is great. 

I love having a night in with old films. I gain so much inspiration for cocktail parties, my own wardrobe, and it's just so lovely to watch glamour unfold on the big screen through the eyes of one of the greats.
